Dear family and everyone else,
On Monday, we went to see the Darby's after dinner, and we found out that their rent is going up about 100 dollars and that the place is getting renovated. They are getting evicted because they can't afford the new price. They don't have anywhere to go though.
They are searching hard, maybe even out of state. I feel bad for them because his back is really bad and can't do much. His wife has something too, so it's very hard for either of them to get a job when their health is poor, so they just live off of disability with their kids. We are hoping that their daughter Nicole will remain active in the ward that they will move to. Speaking of moves, we are getting a new family into the ward later tonight. We will try to help our elders quorum with getting this new family all moved in.
Tuesday, we had a short lesson with a less active named Timothy. He's interesting. He says that he wants to quit smoking but is a slave to it, so maybe we can help him with that so he can improve his health a little bit. We also gave him 3 Nephi 27 to read since he, for some reason, thinks that we are a cult (or someone who worships the devil). We wanted to show him from that chapter that the name of the church shows that we believe in Christ, and that the prophets and apostles then and now are led by the Lord himself, whether by revelation, or personal manifestation. Hopefully he will soften his heart to his own church.
Wednesday, we had dinner as usual with a member. This time, we went to Hill-Billie BBQ restaurant. It's a small, quiet place with really interesting food combinations and BBQ sauces. We even had fry sauce made especially for us. The server usually doesn't make it, but when she does, she gets excited to do it. At least she grew up around Utah so she knows what it is, soI am definitely not missing out on fry sauce from Utah. "Bah-bah-bah-bah-bah I'm Lovin' it!" Oh wait, that's McDonald's. I love Arctic Circle: "Where the Good stuff is!"
We also had another Zone Conference in Stockton. I have attached a picture of President and Sister Palmer so you all don't miss out on what they look like. The main messages was 1. Continue to be one with the Savior by being kind, loving, obedient, and diligent. 2. Divine revelation is seldom convenient to receive, follow, and do. Sometimes, we have a prompting to knock on a house, and nobody is there and you wonder why? The lord gives us inspiration to test us to see whether we would follow it or not. If we do, then we will be given more to act upon.
One other thing worth mentioning is that we taught Sally Molinari 2 of the new member lessons--the restoration, and the plan of salvation. She knows the first discussion so thoroughly that she pretty much knows it all, which is pretty good for a convert. She did investigate for 4 years after all. That's about it for this week. Love you all.
Sincerely,
Elder White
