Dear Family and Everyone Else,
Craziness has come and gone, and this week is going to be crazy yet again. Rain tomorrow, cold temperatures, Thanksgiving Thursday, and also Zone meeting that day too. We have received word from our leaders that we are to set up as many appointments as we can on Thanksgiving because everyone will be busy and will not be happy for our knocking on their door on Thanksgiving. I would have thought people would be grateful to hear the good word of God. Even if it's just a message of the importance of being grateful for the atonement and all the blessings of God. Oh Americans! take up the council of what President Uchtdorf has said, "We would do well to slow down a little, focus on the significant, lift up our eyes, and truly see the things that matter most". Family, love, correction, rejoice on the life events. Gain that relationship that we all need with Heavenly Father. These are the things that matter most.
We are still teaching Jenny. She is almost done with all the lessons and discussions. We still need to go over laws and ordinances, the 10 commandments, and explain who Thomas S. Monson is. She also needs to attend church twice. She said she would attend the branch down south in the old Fresno Mission. I just hope she kept her word so she can get baptized this next week or so. She has the desire, but Satan has many tricks up his sleeve to slow her down. She told us of a dream she had of what spirit prison is like or the end of the world. She wasn't sure. She though of it as a sign that this gospel is for her. She is a solid investigator.
We are also teaching a guy named Ray more. He knows Jehovah's Witness's are not for him. However, they still keep going over there. We come in the day when his son is not there. He seems to show more interest for us. He also likes the idea of Joseph Smith seeing God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. He hasn't been religious for a long time. He decided he wanted God more in his life. That is why we are over there. I can see him getting baptized one day in the near future.
We are also going through the potentials list and we picked up Shannon. She is going through a lot in life. We shared the atonement with her and let her know that we and Heavenly Father care for her. She loved it. We are still waiting to see if she and Ray will come to church next week. Church is a place where we can receive personal revelation, and we can receive it through the Book of Mormon as well. I want them to understand that soon. None of the less actives seem to want us over. We are working with John Piplono still. In this next lesson tomorrow, we are showing him how we can discern light so he can make the right decisions. He is still young and went less active at 20. We've been reading the Book of Mormon with him, and his wife is a non member. If we work through him and get him active again, his wife might come around and start investigating and get baptized into the church. As soon as we finish up with the potentials and the last of the formers list, we may just start trackting this week. Harvest blessings are good. That's about it. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving.
Elder White.
P.S. Elder Jones from Riverton, Utah is in the mission with me. I barely know him but I know his pretty popular face. I'm like, no way, another Riverton person. Utah is just awesome. Till next week, bye.
