It is done. Elder Boyes had his farewell and I got a new companion. Sadly, I was not able to go to the farewell. What happened was I was handed to the Hmong Elders and they had a very busy night. In fact, nobody in the zone was able to attend his farewell. I felt sorry for him. The good things was, most of our investigators said they would come. I didn't get to see the outcome of it all. That night was interesting. We had dinner at one of their recent converts house, and I asked if somebody had a message to share. I later found out that none had planned on it. One Elder pulled a scripture out of his hat and I suggested in giving the guy a blessing of comfort. I felt so needed, and I have seen God's hand influence that evening.
Elder Brown and I get along great. Come to find out, he was a drama kid back in his high school in Denver, Colorado. I love people who were in drama. He is just hilarious sometimes. I was able to call my family back at home. I heard Elder Painter is coming home soon in my ward, sister Berrett is contacting and teaching like crazy in Bosnia area, and Elder Ruggles, through his e-mails to me, is doing just fine. My new area is very fast paced. We got 3 dates for baptisms for our investigators. Elder Shepard came up to Modesto with me. He was thrown into a baptism. That was pretty awesome for him. Well, it's been a great week and I'm looking forward to what this week will bring.
Press forward saints!
