Dear Family and everyone else,
I have been forgetting this for some time now. An apostle about a year ago or so, came to this mission and asked all the missionaries to part their hair. This will set us apart from the world and from the other missions. Therefore, I have been combing my hair to the side for some time now. I will send a picture of my part for all to see. This helps our mission become the success that it has to this day. From last week, I have said that me and my companion have had the cold. I am all better now and so is Elder Boyes. However, because he is down to his last 6 weeks, he is just totally worn out and tired. He tries his best to not show it.
On Saint Patrick's Day, I wore my green tie my older sister gave me, so I did not get pinched. Then again, my magnetic name tag had green on the back. On this day, we were able to do some more service for the Martin's. We took out the clothes from their closet and the shelves. Then we ripped out the carpet, and painted the walls I think it was gray. The room was white and the mom of the house wanted it gray like the rest of the house. While we went out after we painted, brother Martin put in wood. That closet looks great now. As soon as the dinner they were cooking was finished, we had to go to a lesson. I was utterly surprised by the time, but also disappointed that I couldn't eat till late that night. Missionaries need to be on time to appointments, but the members also need to be on time with their food.
We then taught some less actives the Plan of Salvation. They brought up some very good questions about our Pre-Mortal life. We are teaching one of them again tonight and tomorrow night. They are living with their grandparents who are active in the church. I have seen firsthand that the influence of members can affect less-actives and investigators. Family Home Evening is very important here in California. Therefore, I exhort all to free Monday night's at all costs for the family to be together. The work presses on. Follow commitments people ask of you, and you will be blessed. Also prepare yourselves for General Conference. We are given council on what we need to do in these trying times. Remember to "Catch The Wave." All members, a missionary. Continue to pray for rain here in the valley. They may run out of water in about 12 months someone said.
