Dear Family and everyone else,
Today, I will be watching the "Saratov Approach" with my zone. I will be one of two who has seen it. I'm just glad that it has a happy ending. It sure builds the suspense.
I was given the opportunity of going on 2 exchanges this week. First, I was with Elder Shepard Wednesday. We went to the Gonzalez family and answered some of their questions about the gospel. They have been filled with anti-Mormon literature, so they are scared to read any book other than the Bible, yet the mother was reading something that helps explain the Bible. We told them, read for yourself from the Book of Mormon. We can tell you these things, but ultimately you need to find for yourselves. They are very respectful people. The mother loves missionaries. We left them to watch #BecauseHeLives, and read "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" pamphlet. The daughter especially seemed interested.
On Friday, I was with Elder Johnson for a couple hours while Elder Boyes and the other companion were at leadership training. Elder Johnson has been out for 2 weeks. He is a convert to the church 1 1/2 years ago, so he knows the principles very freshly. He is currently 26. He said he is not the oldest missionary to come out at this time. We had a fantastic time together. He is hilarious. We tried seeing many members to have him practice. We were able to contact the bishop and do the restoration there. I also told the bishop how Ward Mission Conference went. I told him that it went really well, even though people went out of town because of spring break. The message was put across in their minds "help the missionaries press forth this work." The lord is great in sending forth his wave of power and righteousness. I have studied Elder Nelson's talk from April 2013 "Catch the Wave." He exhorts all to "catch the wave." Members and non-members alike. Hold true to the good moral values. Always take in thought "moments that matter most." Also, I will send a picture of Elder Johnson. I love you all. Until next week.
